Inntel receives our nod as an athletic-minded option in Amsterdam for its appealing accommodations, central location, and suitable onsite fitness option. The 5-story, modern, 239-room property sits on a traffic-free square on the east side of downtown Amsterdam. This location makes walking to/from the Central train station, museums and the eastern half of the city's heart convenient. But, trips to west-side attractions like Vondelpark will be best served by bike or taxi.
Guest quarters here are small (typical for Amsterdam hotels) but very inviting. Warm red, blue and brown tones cover the four walls, free WiFi internet transmits through the air and cozy bedding awaits your jet-lag nap or overnight slumber. Deluxe rooms offer one twin bed while Superiors provide doubles.
The onsite fitness option offers Life Fitness equipment that will work for a quick hit. The number of machines is anemic at only three. The strength options are also limited. The hotel also boasts a "Wellness Club" that offers a Finnish sauna and Turkish steam room. Access is complimentary. There are locker rooms next to the gym. What you will not find here is a legit lap option, so swimmers should head to Het Marnix for a dip.
Joggers searching for an outdoor route should make their way to the wonderful paths within Vondelpark, about a 15-minute jog away.
