The Ohio State University has three pools available for visitors to lap in: the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion and the Recreation Natatorium. Distances for swimming include a 10-lane 50m, two 6-lane 25-yard pools, and an 8-lane 25-yard pool.
Arena is not a huge facility - just one floor with the main cardio and strength area in a space the size of a 5 or 6-car garage. There is also a cycling studio and yoga studoio. Space aside, the ambiance is fantastic with plenty of natural light and excellent equipment spacing.
Hooray for having a Bikram Yoga studio near downtown and the OSU campus. As you can see from the images, the studio is fully equipped with showers and locker room space. The practice room has wood floors and we hear the heat is pretty good.
This old and historic community center shows its age in some areas, but has received a facelift in others. The downstairs cardio area is the facility's best feature and sports new Life Fitness treadmills, Precor ellipticals, and a few recumbent bikes.
Wow, the 7th floor of the DoubleTree building has a lot going on -- for Athletic-Minded Travelers. Squash court, cardio room, golf simulator, weight room and more. DoubleTree guests can play for fun. Others can join in too for a $$ fee.
You'll need a car to get to the only 25-yard lap pool in downtown Columbus as it's about 5 miles from the heart of the city. $5 admission at the door. Call to confirm lap swim hours as they vary throughout the year.
