Located on the south bank of the Thames, London's oldest food market is not to be missed. If you want a truly local experience get here early and bring your appetite. The main Green Market is held beneath the railway bridges east of Bedale Street beside the cathedral. The market features 70 organic farmers, artists, bakers, and gourmet food importers. It's open air with a warehouse style roof and covers nearly 5 acres!
There are a number of shops and restaurants surrounding the market on Stoney St., Park St. and Bedale St. As you wander you'll find fresh fish, fowl, veggies, wine, coffee shops, fine food purveyors, and food to go.
