Located in Covent Garden in a stately Victorian building, this classic American grill covers two stories and is a good venue for a business lunch and/or an American style dinner or brunch! Diners have the option of the upstairs restaurant or the chic Martini Bar. The restaurant dining room's wood floors, white table cloths, fresh flowers, views of Waterloo Bridge and ample natural light create a pleasing and elegant ambiance that is not at all fussy. The more modern and chic Martini Bar (located on the ground level) is a nice option for those on their own. The menu here is steak-house friendly with lots of entree options and sides. Customizers can easily create something appealing. And for those longing for pancakes and French toast, come for the weekend brunch.
If you decide to hang out in the Martini Bar, you have the option of the restaurant's menu AND the bar food menu. In terms of bar food, the menu includes quesadillas, buffalo wings, fish cakes, cold cut platter, soup, Caesar, chili, grilled veggie sandwich, burgers and, thankfully, a Nicoise salad. Upstairs at the restaurant breakfast is a treat with fruit, granola, yogurt, eggs, buttermilk pancakes, gourmet French toast, and tasty smoothies. The fixed price brunch menu offers plenty of options including the breakfast items along with salads, grilled fish, chicken and burgers.
For the upstairs restaurant the menu, the menu is quite big. Starters include soup, carpaccio, grilled asparagus, seared scallops, rigatoni, crab cakes, Caesar salad. Since the salad offering is rather weak, veggie lovers can order spinach, additional greens, and other veggies on the side. Main courses include salmon cakes, grilled fish, steamed seabass, lobster, and roasted halibut. Carnivores can dig into rib-eye, NY strip, fillet mignon, or the surf/turf combo. Other entrees include breast of chicken, roast guinea fowl, and a vegetarian friendly dish of veggies and lentils. The weekend brunch (11:30a to 3:30p) offers all sorts of options including fresh fruit, yogurt creations, a fruit and spinach salad, granola, pancakes, French toast, burgers, crab cakes, chicken, poached and scrambled eggs, and an appealing "huevos California" (like a breakfast burrito).
