We are fans of the studios operated by Hot Bikram London because of their close attention to detail in design. The Fulham studio boasts a strategically designed lobby that not only has aesthetic appeal but also functions to diffuse traffic during peak hours. The walls are adorned with funky (but tasteful) silvery wall paper and an accent wall in cherry red adds some warmth. The studio space was kept uncomplicated with 3 neutral walls and one soft blue accent wall for a cooling effect. Modern light fixtures add some personality to the otherwise simple room and offer diffuse lighting before and after class when the overhead lights are not in use.
DIRECTIONS/DETAILS The studio is located about 5 miles from Mid-City, Hyde Park and Regent's Park. The nearest tubes are Parsons Green and Fulham Broadway, both about a 4-minute walk. From Parsons, turn right at exit towards the Green. Heathmans Road is the first turn on right and the studio is at the end of the cul-de-sac. Locker rooms, while a little small, have large framed mirrors over the sinks for a more 'homey' touch, dark teak benches and brushed steel hooks for storing personal items and sandstone tiles on the floors. The dressing area just outside the shower stalls was laid with teak flooring and provides a spa-like atmosphere.
A single class is 16.5 pounds, mat and towel rentals are 2 pounds each and a variety of regular and flavored waters are available for around 2-4pounds.

ABOUT BIKRAM YOGA Bikram Yoga welcomes beginners. This 90 minute class consists of 26 beginning postures and is conducted in a hot room (approx. 110 degrees) with, hopefully, high humidity. But don't be fooled into thinking beginning means easy - it doesn't! Iron men and couch potatoes, alike, have found themselves floored in "dead man's pose" just minutes into this challenging workout. You don't have to be strong or flexible or in excellent shape to do this yoga - you simply have to be willing. What we also really like about Bikram's is that every studio teaches the same sequence of postures so you always know you're going to get a full-body workout, a great benefit for travelers. ** Note they don't call it "sweaty stinky yoga" without reason. Often smaller studios will have a very distinct fragrance. Don't fret and just do the yoga.
