This petite-sized health club is a good deal and convenient for guests of the connected Clifton Ford hotel (free admission). Others, however, must pay a 15BP sweat tariff, which is hard to justify.
Most of the cardio and strength equipment is arranged in one small room, below street level. A mixture of newer and older machines are offered; predominantly StarTrac and Life Fitness brands. Take a look at our chart for details. (The listed quantities should give you an idea of the club's size too.) Because this is a neighborhood club, crowds are uncommon. Still, if you can work out during off-peak times (10a - 3p), you'll avoid waiting for your favorite machine.
This Virgin also houses a 17-meter pool on the lower, lower level. While it is possible to swim laps using the floating rope for guidance, its aforementioned short distance, lack of bottom stripes, and dark surroundings create a swim experience that is significantly less than ideal. Note: The pool closes 30 minutes earlier than the club.
