St. Paul, MN 55103
Area: Minneapolis, MN

Como Park is about a dozen miles from downtown Minneapolis in St. Paul and plays host to all sorts of athletic pursuits. In the summer consider golf, swimming, tennis, running or paddle-boating. In the winter you can ski or snowboard, but it's a beginner slope only.

*The Como Park Ski Center* (which doubles as the par 70 Golf Course in the warmer months) is perfect for those learning to ski or snowboard. Along with the lighted tow rope, snow making and groomed trails, there is also a cozy chalet and equipment rental. Rope passes are $11 for adults and $9 for those 17 and under. Check hours, but typically the Chalet opens in December and is open from 3 pm to 9 pm Tuesday and Wednesday and from 9a to 6p Saturday and 11a to 6p on Sunday.

*Mini and 18-hole Golf* are other park activities. Mini golf is available from Memorial Day through Labor Day (10a to 8p M-Sat and Noon to 8p Sunday). Call 651.488.0277 for more info. The *public golf course* is a 5980 yard par 70 course. Call 651.488.9673 for Tee Times or book online at www.usegolf.net/golferstpaul/

Swimmers can get wet at the outdoor *Como Pool* (located at Horton Ave. and Lexington Pkwy)--open during the summer. Along with lessons, open swim, and water aerobics there is also adult lap swim. Call for lap times: 651.489.2811

*Runners* may enjoy the 1.67 mile path around Como Lake.

If you've got the kids in tow, there's also *Como Town*, an amusement area for kids 12 and under, and Como Zoo. The *Zoo* is a bargain with admission set at a suggested voluntary donation. www.comozooconservatory.org/como_zoo/visitor.shtml
