Area: Walt Disney World Resort area

The blue themed restaurant is modern, energetic and sophisticated with its bubble like chandeliers, wave patterned carpet, shimmering walls and cascading water. The open kitchen, raw bar and fresh coastal cuisine and overall sophisticated approach attract a heavy conventioneer crowd and others with flush expense accounts. Fresh seafood is the star here and the selection is vast. But, like most WDD resorts, keep expectations in check. It's hard to find a super solid restaurant in Mickey's neck of the woods.

Selecting a few appetizers and a starter salad can easily make a meal here. Consider the roasted beet or spring green salad along with the tuna tartar, daily ceviche, or poached shrimp. The heart of romaine salad is more rich and includes a poached egg.  If you enjoy shell fish, Blue Zoo's raw bar offers a diverse selection of lobster, shrimp, oysters, clams and more. Light eaters will appreciate the grilled "simply fish" option with choice of sauce. Other potential entrées may include roasted swordfish, miso glazed sea bass with sesame spinach, seared nori wrapped tuna, as well as rotisserie roasted chicken, double pork chop and tenderloin of beef. A la carte veggies and starch also available, but you'll need to customize to keep it lighter.
