Over the top glitzy decor, top-notch Japanese cuisine, and attentive service make Morimoto the place to go when you are in search of sushi with a scene. Glass booths that change color, neon lighting, minimalist white walls, candle lit tables, and a bamboo ceiling create the very hip setting for Iron Chef Morimoto's upscale and inventive cuisine. Coveted sushi bar seating is often hard to come by. This is definitely the place to go for the Chef's tasting.
Once you get past the glam atmosphere to the menu, you will find a number of appealing raw and cooked options. At lunch light soups, sashimi or lobster salad, and a number of cold dishes such as the chilled vegetable salad, seared Kobe beef tartar and steamed chicken with sesame sauce lead way to hot options including table side tofu or yellowtail, and Chilean sea bass. Lunch combos come with miso, fried rice and salad and include NY strip, chicken teriyaki, yellowtail, tempura and sushi or sashimi. Dinner adds more gourmet options such as spicy king crab, steamed scallops, oyster foie gras, and in place of the lunch combos entrées like black cod miso, Kobe short ribs, crispy whole fish, lobster and more. Oysters, king crab and osetra caviar available via the raw bar. Of course the sushi and sashimi selection is first rate.
