Pamela's Shadyside outpost is slightly more attractive than the Oakland location, but expect a diner that looks like a diner--not one dressed up in chrome, red and cool retro formica either. At Pamela's it's humble wood chairs, a checkerboard floor and some colorful artwork on the walls. Pamela's (with six Pittsburgh locations) garners rave reviews for its big and hearty breakfasts that is served all day. Light eaters have a few choices, but some customization will likely be required.
Pamela's is happy to make egg beater or egg white omelets for light eaters. Pamela's is known for their crepe like pancakes that come in a variety of flavors (strawberries & cream; chocolate chip banana; spiced apple nut). There are also Belgian waffles, chocolate chip banana pancakes, hash, omelets, French toast and oatmeal. The sides list offers cereal, cottage cheese, ham, fruit, and bagels. For lunch count on diner style salads (chef, grilled chicken, tossed), sandwiches/wraps (e.g., grilled chicken, spinach and feta wrap), and soups. Breakfast served all day!
Open daily: Mon-Sat 8a-4p; Sun 8a-3p
