Emphasizing organic and seasonal ingredients, Four Square strives to offer a menu that lets the flavor of the food speak for itself. The menu changes monthly and while the preparation appear a bit heavier, we think the philosophy and commitment to freshness deserve a go. There are typically a half dozen first courses and nine or ten entrées. Set in a restored Victorian-era historic house, the ambiance is traditional and classic. The seven small dining rooms create an intimate dining experience. When the weather is nice, request a table on the veranda.
Examples from a recent menu (menu changes monthly) included starters of watercress & radicchio salad with smoked rainbow trout, a stuffed artichoke and sauteed shrimp on a sweet peak cake. Entrées included roasted fish, mushroom crusted scallops, an heirloom summer squash trio, grilled flank steak, and Thai vegetable stew.
