Get your bbq on at this Durham favorite. Look for the big sign atop the diner-type building with parking spaces right in front. Inside there is a big chalkboard listing all the eat possibilities. Wooden tables and chairs and a long wood bar give it a casual, southern vibe. And despite all the meat and artery clogging possibilities, there are some more sensible options here too! Keep in mind that Picnic is known more for its fried chicken than anything else.
For those wanting the bbq experience but not wanting to bust the eating plan, your best bets are the chili, marinated kale salad, cobb salad with blackened chicken, pickled cucumber and onions side, market fish, blackened catfish, and possibly a side of pulled pork.
