Located right downtown, this upscale and intimate restaurant is the perfect spot for a business meal or special outing. The location in an historic building (actually a renovated bank) affords classic architectural touches such as the oak and beveled-glass doors, high ceilings, dark woods, cozy booths, and elegant furnishings. There is a potential downside--the Mediterranean inspired menu is small plate focused with a large number of tapas and only about a half dozen entrées. However, it's gourmet and there are sensible options for those looking to keep the meal on the lighter side. Note that while the lunch menu is significantly more casual than dinner's menu, it does offer healthier fare such as entrée salads.
The lunch menu offers a variety of sandwich combos (salmon, grilled portobello, turkey, roast beef, chicken), yummy salads (portobellow and white bean, southwestern, Asian with salmon), daily pasta, and quiche. Dinner is much more upscale. Highlights of the tapas selection include pan seared calamari, steamed clams, seafood stew, smoked Utah trout, white asparagus, soft shelled crab and often marinated pork tenderloin. Entrées include pesto crusted tilapia, seared beef tenderloin, pumpkin seed crusted wild salmon, and pork tenderloin with lemon.
