This pure vegetarian café prides itself on providing the freshest and healthiest cuisine possible. Nearly all their ingredients are organic and Sage's does not use microwaves, fryers or heat lamps, so don't be in a hurry. The restaurant is fairly roomy, and the decor echoes a modern, more refined diner with hues of light brown to dark brown. You will have a choice to sit in a booth, at a table, or at the bar area. The last Friday of each month is Raw Food Night. Customizers will enjoy the long sides list and anyone will appreciate the fresh ingredients.
Because they buy from local suppliers and emphasize fresh and seasonal ingredients the menus frequently change. There is always a seasonal soup, three or four gourmet salads, sandwiches/burgers, and four entrées. There is also a good side order selection. Salad examples include a large house salad with veggies and avocado, a sauteed spinach salad with grilled portabello and almond sprinkles, and a soba with the noodles served over greens. Sandwiches typically include mock meats, vegetable combos and veggie burgers. Recent entrées were fresh basil pesto pasta, mushroom stroganoff, and a "magical wok" with seared veggies, coconut curry sauce, toasted cashews and a choice of tofu, tempeh, portabello, or vegetarian chicken. Other options may be vegetarian soft corn tacos and a raw cashew pad Thai. Weekend breakfast includes tofu scramble, breakfast tacos, savory crepe, French toast, flap jacks, fruit and the "back-country breakfast" consisting of brown rice, sauteed fruit, currants and pure maple syrup. Customizers can order protein (nut burger, vegetarian chicken, tofu, tempeh and portabellos), guacamole, avocado, brown rice, black beans, grilled or steamed veggies, tofu scramble, and other starches on the side!
