Located in the heart of the Sugar House neighborhood just a few miles South of downtown, this sushi bar is a solid option for a sushi and Japanese food fix. The décor is contemporary with Japanese accents and the crowd tends to be a mix of young trendy urbanites and business types. Cozy up to a table or booth for a quieter meal or hit the sushi bar for more lively action.
At lunch, along with the sushi, nigiri, and sashimi, there is plentiful cooked cuisine. Appetizers include miso soup, mixed greens, seaweed or squid salad, cucumber salad, and edamame. Other cooked food includes rice bowls with teriyaki chicken, sirloin, veggies or shrimp, baby back ribs, tempura, chicken katsu, jalapeno teriyaki burger and some entrée salads with choice of grilled chicken, salmon or sirloin steak. The dinner menu is similar in terms of the appetizers and entrée salads, but includes more gourmet options such as "tuna tako" which is spicy octopus wrapped in fresh tuna, a poki tuna appetizer and seared Kobe beef sashimi. Other sensible dinner menu selections include the steamed spinach or green beens, vegetable gyoza, fresh spring rolls, veggie stir fry and grilled salmon teriyaki.
