Want a unique dining experience? Though it is an hour out of SLC, try The Yurt dinner package at this resort! Snowshoe or cross country ski the ¾ of a mile to a Mongolian yurt through moon lit or lantern lit parts of the Wasatch Mountain State Park. Once there, dine in style with a five course dinner as you watch the sun set over the park. The overall environment is intimate, with only 20 people per group around community tables. The package is pricey at $100 a person but the experience is definitely unusual. Want a unique dining experience? Though it is an hour out of SLC, try The Yurt dinner package at this resort! The menu changes depending on the chef's choices, but you can request accommodation for a variety of diets, including vegetarian, no red meat, and no fish as long as the staff is informed ahead of time. While the menu changes to showcase what is in season, past menus have included: asparagus and lobster crepes, apple and blue cheese salad, white bean and olive soup, pan seared duck breast, and white chocolate bread pudding, as well as marinated lamb t-bone, tomato and crab salad, braised lamb shank, and cabernet poached pear tart. The tour price includes everything but appropriate clothing, so be sure to dress warmly. Most experiences start at 5:30 and end by 9:30. Be sure you make reservations for The Yurt dining experience, as the trips fill up fast! You can also embark on the same trip during the summer without the snow and cold. Directions: To get to the resort, take the US-189 North/US-40 West to the I-80 West, then continue to the I-215 South until you hit the exit for East/Big Cottonwood Canyon Road. The resort is off Big Cottonwood Canyon Road.
