Breaking up is hard to do...with Whole Foods

We try to show discipline. We even avoid going too often.  But alas, we can't resist what others often don't have. 

Whole Foods Market is smart. Its 365 Brand's reasonable pricing lures cost conscious shoppers into the store. And once they are "in", they buy MORE, whole-paycheck style. We do. It's how our small basket adds up to 3 figures in a shopping nano second. BUT if one sticks to sales, Whole Foods can be VERY reasonable!

So what are some products that we love to buy there especially when on sale?

Whole Foods strikes again. Another reason to shop at Trader Joes.

I'm befuddled. How can Whole Foods possibly justify charging 53% MORE for the EXACT same product that Trader Joe's sells? YES, THE EXACT SAME PRODUCT. Same packaging. Same flavor. Same Vendor. The Same. The last time I complained, I wasn't as miffed. The product was slightly different in terms of the packaging and the Whole Foods price mark-up wasn't as shocking. I love muffins. Wait, that's not entirely true. I love healthy muffins , ones that aren't loaded with sugar and oil.

The Whole Paycheck moniker still fits

First a note: We love Whole Foods. We recommend the stores in nearly every city we cover. When I'm on the road, nothing hits my meal sweet spot better than a very large, build it myself, Whole Foods salad. In fact, we posted about our "can't live without" products from Whole Foods not too long ago.

BUT, we have also complained about the bagging service, moldy fruit, and prices!

It was over a year ago that I sang the praises of Trader Joe?s on these pages. I listed products that I found to be exceptional and described why the shopping experience is way, way, above average.
